Introductory 2-day Course

27th and 28th February 2013, 10 am- 4.15 pm, In partnership with Cornerhouse, Manchester.

Artswork is keen to support individuals and organisations across the country to:

-           take a fresh look at their approach to fundraising

-          develop their fundraising knowledge

-           look at a series of case study examples

-          use funding wisely once in hand!

“Your project is unique and therefore requires an approach to fundraising that is tailored specifically to the overall ambitions, strengths and characteristics of the project”

Jay-Michelle Mendivil, Artsplan Trainer

This is an introductory level course, so looks to provide participants with a firm foundation of knowledge based on successful projects delivered. The course will explore different funding sources relevant to youth arts projects, ways of approaching funders, developing relationships with funders and writing bids.

The aim of the course is to equip you with a wide range of invaluable tools and techniques to leave you feeling confident about applying for funding. Delivered over two days, you will have the opportunity to explore ‘beneath the surface’ of your projects as well as projects delivered by other participants. You will also be able to dedicate some focussed time to fundraising and budgeting. Everyone will be equipped with a ‘Get Sorted: Youth Arts Funding Guide’ which will be referenced during the course.

Jay-Michelle Mendivil, an experienced Youth Arts Manager and PTLLS qualified trainer will deliver the course.

The course is offered at a special rate to enable greater access and to support those who may choose to stay overnight. Course fees range from £110- £150 (1-day courses are normally charged at this rate, therefore you are subsidised by a full day of training!). Lunch, refreshments, additional resources and certification are included.

Places are limited so early booking is advised!
